Although it may be merely a marketing ploy, online retailers have dubbed today Cyber Monday, a day traditionally celebrated by shopping online, which sure beats finding a parking spot and waiting in line. Raise your hand if you have bought something online today! Okay, now raise your hand if you're reading this at work the day after a long weekend and you just don't feel like working.
From our local paper on Friday: "The mall's marketing manager estimated 15,000 to 20,000 shoppers were at the mall when the doors opened at 2:30 a.m." Interestingly, Black Friday is not the busiest shopping day of the year; it's usually 5th to 10th place. The Saturday before Christmas is the day you should definitely avoid the mall. They actually have police directing traffic at ours during December - helpful, convenient, yet scary that we need that.
Back to your cyber shopping...
