Vikings were geniuses

A lightweight and flexible technique, Viking Weave (or Viking Knit) is also easy but it takes a time commitment. It took me 2-3 hours and about a mile of hair-thin wire to make this 18" necklace. I worked on it at Festival of Trees and in the car over Thanksgiving. For some reason I can't sit at my bench and while away the hours on things like seed beading and wire knitting, but when I'm a captive audience it's welcome entertainment.

For those who are interested, the wire is 28ga fine silver (.999), caps are Turkish, the slider bail is Bali silver, and the drop is smoky quartz.
